After Subway, Food and Wine named the chain as the second-largest sandwich chain with the third-best revenue. Other than being famous for the classic Beef ‘n Cheddar sandwiches and Roast Beef they also have many other varieties like Jamocha Shakes, Curly Fries, deli-style Market Fresh line of sandwiches, and Greek gyros. The company once every two weeks which is biweekly and payday is different depending upon the store and location. But there are still contradictions in the pay period because in very few restaurants they were paid weekly. The day of receiving the payroll is Sunday and then the next week starts. The people were also paid on a fixed date like the seventh and twenty-third. After the hiring of the employee, they may have to wait two weeks or a week depending upon the day and week of joining. If you join in a week whose Sunday is paid then you might get your pay depending upon the hours you have worked. After that your pay becomes regular. Based on the Fair Labor Standard Act (FLSA) the non-exempt employees are paid for their overtime.

  • General Manager:- They mostly keep the staff in check for the whole store or sometimes stores. They mostly have to see that the customers are served properly and dissolve clashes between the customers and staff. They are paid on a monthly basis which is somewhere around $45000 yearly. 
  • Servers:– They work in direct contact with the customers. They have to take orders, generate bills and manage the tables. They mostly start at $10 and keep getting a raise. They are given a seven-week training which is done to tell them how to serve and handle cash and bills.
  • Other jobs include maintenance checkers, assistant managers, etc. There are employees who even work at higher levels who are responsible for filing taxes of the company, testing new dishes, computer handling, and database management.

The employees can work part-time or full-time depending on their availability and the store’s requirements. The hourly salary is mostly the same but the only difference comes when the full-time employees are given raises. A part-timer has to work for more than twenty-four hours and the minimum work time of another one is forty hours.

The pay for the first week is kept by the company and a few training hours are also kept till you get your first paycheck. The weekly payroll is given by them at the time when you leave.

The store provides some employee benefits which can only be benefited by the full-time employees. Some of them include medical insurance and coupons for dental treatment. It shouldn’t be khaki but jeans work at some stores which are not too tight or body-fit for the servers and cooks but it is not an option for a manager. A belt is compulsory along with non-skit, polishable black shoes alongside a scarf or pin around the neck. The employees can also wear the polo shirts provided by the store which are embedded with their logo. You also have to wear a visor/hat with their logo and a black apron is compulsory at any time of the shift. 

Why the name Arby’s:-

The name of the store has an interesting back story. The name was decided to be Big Tex but it couldn’t be named so because it was already in use by Akron Business. So they had gone for Arby’s which was the initials of the Raffel Brothers which was R.B. The misconception alongside the name was that it stood for Roast Beef.
