  • The second question is, “What is the reason for choosing medicine?” In the 21st century, money plays a big role. Blurting out about making more money is why choosing the profession will get the person rejected immediately. Being honest is important. Saying the answer based on emotions is important but being practical is also important. Helping people, falling in love with the subject, discovering new things, etc., are a few of the answers that stand out.

  • The third question is, “What will the aspiring physician do when under pressure?”  Not a single person in this whole world wants a physician who, under pressure, loses his or her cool and makes the matter worse. The ability to be precise and calm under pressure is essential. It helps to clear the head, and the right decisions can be taken easily.

  • The next question is, “What skills experience does the aspiring physician possess?” Sometimes employers get impressed by the name of the educational institutes that the interviewee used to go to. The interview period is conducted to know how much the person knows, and, naturally, people get hired when the interviewer likes them.  Telling about the experience and training they received and how confident they feel about themselves is important.   • The fifth question is, “What are the objectives and goals of the aspiring physician?” Thinking about the question in terms of the position that the interviewee is being interviewed for is important.  Phrasing the objectives and the goal to align with the position that the person is being interviewed for. Providing consistent quality care for the betterment of the patients and assembling busy and reputable practices with the best team are a few things that can be said to answer the question.

  • The sixth question is, “What kind of salary is the aspiring physician aiming for?” Before the question is asked, the interviewer knows the salary range under which the interviewee can work. They have already told the company to proceed with the said salary. Even though the interviewer knows the range, he or she would still ask the question. With the skills and experience, they are more than sure about the salary. So it is important to come up with a quick and nice reply. The interviewee may say that they feel confident about the job and a fair but competitive offer will be good enough for them.  This kind of reply minimizes the risk. Otherwise, saying an exact amount might create a problem because it may be high or less than the range. If low, the interviewee will be balling himself, but the chance of rejection increases if it is high. 

  • The next question is, “What are the strengths of the interviewee?” This question should be taken as an opportunity by the interviewee. He or she can highlight all the things about themselves which they feel confident about. Those things might include compassion, work ethic, honesty, ability to work with others, and solid training. Sharing about the thing he or she is passionate about when it comes to the patients is also important.

  • The  eighth question is, “What are the weaknesses of the interviewee?” Like the above question, trying and framing the answer in such a way that it may like a weakness to the interviewee, but the interviewer should not feel it to affect the job negatively. Conveying that the interviewee might be a perfectionist, overachiever, and sometimes a workaholic is good because it does not negatively affect the interviewer. This an important question, and keeping an answer ready is good. It should also be kept in mind that the answer should be sweet and brief.

  • The ninth question is, “What are the other practices that the aspiring physician is investigating?” Honesty should be shown while answering this question. But it should be kept in mind to avoid using any specific names of any group or organization. Practicing locally and a few from the home town is a good answer. It should also be mentioned that he or she is very interested in working in the specified area by the interviewer. The answer should make it look like the interviewee is interviewing at several places and made time to meet them to show how serious they are about the mentioned opportunity.

  • The tenth question is, “What will the aspiring physician do if an emergency occurs when he or she is treating another person?” The interviewer will ask this question to get to know about the time management quality of the interviewee without hampering any patient’s care. The answer should be straightforward. Describing past experiences that he or she have dealt with or any emergency should be mentioned. How he or she took care of the situation by transitioning between duties should also be mentioned. 

  • The eleventh question is, “What is the way that the aspiring physician will present complicated information to the patient?” The answer should make the interviewer understand the interviewee’s communication skills and how conveniently he or she can relay the complications to the patients. Using examples from past experiences to make the matter easily understandable is important. The diagnosis and the treatment processes, the options that can be taken, and discussing and describing the overall situation of the medical condition with the patient are a few of the things that can be said.
