Are you wondering What Does Orange And Green Make? The straightforward answer is Brown
Brown is just one solid color. However, (we may get a bit side tracked here) it has a lot of shades, as all colors do. Shades is a subcategory of any type of color. It can be light, dark, medium, soft or any combination of tertiary color that is compatible with the color Brown or any color itself. And from that, we have created another set of colors just from the color Brown only. We can also take note that Primary colors have different shades as well.
If we take the image above, we are looking at the different kinds of shades of Brown. And that each type of shade is a color of its own and name(s) as well. From mocha, chocolate,peanut, cinnamon, coffee, wood, hickory just to name a few. I am not talking about food here which sounds tasty, but what the shades of brown presents. The shades are numerous and sometimes (sometimes only) we can no longer tell the difference from which is what comes from as the similarity to each of its own are close to one another. And that is the beauty of it.
Right now you might be thinking, can these shades be combined as well? And right you are, that is! But wait! As good as what we might be able to make out of it, some of the results may be less or downright ineffective, in a way. Of Course you are not limited in your imagination but maybe there is a limit to how many we can perceive or identify as “types of brown”. Going back to our first image, we have not yet identified the innermost combined colors of both primary and secondary colors. Kind of easy as we can tell right away that it is the color Black. It is just the absence of light stimulated by the primary colors or. Also you can do a bit of experimentation yourself by (for example) shading a circle with multiple colors using a pen, color pencil, crayons or ball point pen.
There is another way to get the resulting color Brown. What we need again is from the primary colors red and blue that make purple or violet (you can see that again in our first image) The degree of brown we desire to make depends on how heavy or dark the purple is. So in order to get the solidity of the color, for example in painting, we simply need to mix the primary ingredients to an extent of quantity. What we get is more of a Royal Purple, (what a fancy name!) another subcategory of the color purple which is just a deep mixture. After that we mix it with the color Yellow and voila! We now have the color brown! Also if you desire to get the result in the faster way, mixing all Red, Blue and Yellow will have the same effect though it would not be in a prettier way (no in depth quality). But nonetheless, still the same mixture.

Another method of getting the color brown (Yep, there are a lot of manners) is by achieving the color Orange (red plus yellow) and the color black. In painting perspective (you may already have that in your collection),combining these two will amount to what you expect. Though the varying degree of depth may play towards your mixing procedure. Now you know what orange and green make and other ways to achieve the color brown.
Colors are nature’s wonders, they are what make things beautiful. They give life, meaning and perspective to things around us. It is one of the things we can tell the difference between one form or another. That is what they are and have a wide range of variety and do not stop from one or two colors. In a color spectrum as you can see below, we mainly see typical shades of what we normally know. But if we look further, there are vast amounts of assortment that differ from one shade to another. But that is for another deeper discussion.
Colours are made from 3 primary colors such as Red, Yellow and Blue, also known as RYB. Albeit there is another set of primary colours that depends on which perspective we are talking about, physical or in painting. But we will look into the latter type which is the painting perspective – the Red, Yellow and Blue. So from there we have our primary colors as a base of creating different types of hues.
As you can see on the image on the left side, we have Red, Yellow and Blue and the combination of what two types of primary colors make. Such examples would be Yellow and Blue that produces the color Green. Blue and Red that makes Purple. And Yellow and Red which results in the color Orange. Any color made from combining two types of primary colors are called Secondary Colors. Judging from what we did, we now have another set of hues just from that.
But it does not stop just from there! What if we combine another set of secondary colors? Well that is interesting! We will go around about that after we get back to our topic. What does orange and green make? As discussed before, we’ll set out with our primary color Yellow and combine it with Blue, so now we have Green. Then we fuse Yellow with Red and we get Orange. As secondary colors go, we get to combine them to produce a Tertiary Color called BROWN.
Tertiary colors are another set or level of colors that is the result of either combining Primary and Secondary and two types of Secondary Colors. Looking back, we just categorized a whole new form! Amazing right? Yes! So now we have Brown, a typical hue that we can see everywhere from the barks of the tree, a piece of wood, a pencil, bags, tiles, a person’s skin, a person’s hair and so on. It may be one of the common things we can differentiate from what we see around us.
