To Promote yourself can be scary, especially if you’re new to the workforce or entering a new position after graduating from college. While getting others to sing your praises makes it easier, it’s important to remember that promotion should ultimately come from within and stem from your own self-confidence in your abilities.

 Here are three reasons why you deserve promotion. You have a product or service worth sharing: The first reason why you should be promoted  is because you have something worth promoting. You may think that just having a great product or service isn’t enough for self-promotion, but it really is! If there’s something unique about yourself or company, then share it with others—it might even turn out to be an opportunity for them to buy from you.

What is promotion?

Promotion is any activity that aims to make yourself or business more visible or well-known. This can be accomplished through advertising, networking with other professionals in your field, or by participating in events where you can showcase your business. For example, promoting yourself on social media like LinkedIn and Twitter is a great way to boost your visibility and connect with potential customers. Many people are hesitant to put themselves out there—for fear of looking boastful or self-involved—but a little promotion never hurts anyone! You’re probably already promoting yourself regularly (in one way or another) and don’t even realize it! The key is to balance promotion with humility and authenticity. Remember: just because you’re putting yourself out there doesn’t mean you have to brag about every accomplishment. Just let your work speak for itself!

What Triggers Promotion?

With so many blogs out there and so little time to read them all, why should readers of your niche spend time reading yours? Unless you’ve done a great job of curating content or creating spectacular original posts, you probably won’t get much promotion. And even if you do create something fantastic, it doesn’t mean that someone will promote it. After all, they don’t know who you are! But don’t worry! There are several ways that you can make yourself seen by the most people possible in your company,

  • Make sure all of your social media profiles are filled with useful information about who you are and what you do. 
  • Use hashtags when posting on social media in order to increase visibility for those posts. Schedule posts ahead of time to ensure they go live at the right time. 
  •  Reply to comments on your posts, both good and bad, as quickly as possible. 
  • Create high-quality content that relates back to what you post elsewhere online (i.e., if you post a blog post about sales strategies, then create a corresponding video). 
  • Engage with others online via comments and shares – but only if they share similar values.

Importance to promote a person

No matter how great your product or service is, if you don’t have a way to get it in front of people, it’s pretty much worthless. Promotion doesn’t just mean advertising on television or online—it can include word-of-mouth, hosting events and meetups, creating partnerships and more. If you want to make sure that people know what you do and find value in what you have to offer, then promoting yourself and your work is an absolute necessity. The success of any business depends largely on their ability to make themselves known in their marketplace. When people need your services or products they won’t be able to find them if they aren’t searching for them because they don’t know who you are. That’s why to promote a person is so important!

Tips to answer this question during an interview

While it’s important to be humble, you also want to get your point across—especially when you’re interviewing for a promotion. 

  • To do that, all you need to do is describe your accomplishments in a clear and concise way. Let them know why promoting you would help them reach their goals; let them know why they should invest their time in you; tell them what makes you unique and valuable as an employee. 
  • Then, ask yourself: What can I do better or differently next time around? How will I take my performance up a notch? Who can I bring onto my team to support me and reach our collective goals even faster? How can I make myself indispensable? And then talk about those things during your interview. Be prepared with specific examples of how you plan on doing just that. Even if they don’t give you a promotion right away, if they see how much potential you have and how hard you work, chances are good that at some point down the road, they might reconsider!

  •  I’m a good person, I enjoy helping people, and it would make me feel good. . . because we’re both women in business and should support each other.
  • Because you can be anonymous if you want but I won’t judge you or give any information away to anyone. The choices are yours. Whether you want to share your name or not is entirely up to you: it is all anonymous. The point is that you deserve some recognition, so that more people learn about what a positive difference they can make through their actions and how they treat others (you included!). No matter how small a kindness appears, it really does go a long way with someone who is having a bad day!
  • Because I know from experience that even something as simple as a smile from a stranger when you need one most can turn your whole day around. What could be better than knowing there are kind people out there like yourself who have time for those less fortunate? We all have busy lives, but taking time out of our days to acknowledge another human being makes us stronger, happier individuals. That’s why I’m asking you to take just two minutes of your day to do something nice for someone else–and then tell them about it! If everyone did just one nice thing every single day, imagine how different our world would be. And let’s face it: no one will ever know whether or not they’re being promoted by someone else unless they participate too!

Backlinks are an important factor in ranking

We know what you’re thinking, This is it. This is the post that’s going to get me all the traffic and customers I need. But it isn’t. It’s not even close. What you need is backlinks. Backlinks are links from other websites pointing back to your site, which tells Google that people find your content valuable enough that they want others to see it too. The more backlinks you have, the higher 

your website will rank in search engine results pages (SERPs).


Think about why you deserve a little PR love from your friends and family, who know you so well. Sure, it would be nice if everyone in your inner circle wanted to support you 100 percent of the way. But that’s not reality. So try to appeal to their common sense (and pocketbooks) by asking for what you need—in an easy-to-digest way—to help them understand why they should promote you.
