Sample answer: I was working at a large company, which had many departments, but my department’s purpose was overall system architecture. Sample answer: My team and I all work together on complex projects that we will be working on for the next few months. Working on these projects will mean that we will be working at different locations and with different individuals, so some days I might show up at XYZ’s office only to find out that my team lead has asked me to go somewhere else.

What the interviewer wants to know: Describe how you make decisions, do you make decisions quickly or is it a very drawn-out process? How do you manage detail-oriented tasks? How organized are you? 

Sample answer: I make decisions quickly but if it involves something outside of my field then I will usually discuss it with my team lead. I pay attention to detail when necessary and am usually organized with my work.

Sample answer: I am most influenced by my former boss and current boss at ABC company, they handle many different projects and work very hard. I also value the ideas of these two bosses because they keep me on track and offer me new ideas and ways to handle busy work on my tasks.

14. Tell me something that makes you think that you would be a good fit for this position.

What the interviewer wants to know: This question is about your thought process of why you would be a fit for this position. Describe your thought process of what it is like working at XYZ, what skills you bring to the table, what makes XYZ special, etc.

Sample answer: I think I would be a good fit for this position because XYZ company values honesty and openness. I also think I would be a good fit because XYZ works as a team and as far as I know we share ideas and we do not work in silos, which is something that will connect to my core belief on the importance of teamwork.
